Kevin Hart expands his vegan chain
Kevin Hart is known for his stand-up comedy, and acting in films such as Jumanji and Ride Along. As an entrepreneur he developed a media empire as owner of HartBeat Productions and Laugh Out Loud. His latest venture is a chain of vegan restaurants, Hart House, serving plant-based burgers, fries, shakes and more.
Hart describes himself as a “plant-based eater” although he admits to eating chicken from time to time. He has discovered and embraced many vegan sources of protein, and has felt more vibrant as a result.
His first step into advocating for plant-based proteins was to team up with Beyond Meat for a TV advert promoting their plant-based burgers. The goal of the ad was to encourage people to choose Beyond Meat over beef for the good of the planet. He pointed out that eating plant-based is “actually fighting climate change”.
As he saw how popular plant-based eating was in LA, he decided to launch his vegan fast-food restaurant, Hart House. After announcing his first restaurant in June 2022, he has since expanded to four locations in the LA area, including one in a former McDonald’s building with a drive-thru, offering burgers and chick’n sandwiches, nuggets, salads, fries, tots and shakes.
His statement on the Hart House website reads:
“I founded Hart House to create a good experience that combines the joy of coming together over food, with the power of purpose. Our amazing chefs and team members have crafted a 100% plant-based menu that delivers “can’t-believe-it” flavor in every bite.”
