Vegfest is an all-volunteer run event. It’s a big undertaking and we need lots of help! Volunteers who help for a 4 hour shift or more will receive a free Vegfest t-shirt, free admission to the event, the reward of helping to make Vegfest a big success, and a whole lot of fun.

Those who have never volunteered at Vegfest before may wonder what they would be doing.  Let me tell you about the many roles you can choose from:

The most important role is Food Demonstrator.  We want to ensure there’s lots of food for attendees to sample. Several companies are shipping their products to us, but they’re not able to send any staff of their own, so we need your help to serve out food samples and promote their product for them. Other companies just need a little extra help, and ask for a volunteer to assist them.  Either way, you’ll be preparing food samples and may be interacting with guests about the food you are serving.  All the information about the products will be provided on flyers or packaging.

We need greeters to welcome people and guide them around the venue. If you’re comfortable handling money, we need help selling tickets at the gate.  This year we’re also offering online ticket sales and we’ll have a credit card machine so that people can pay in many different ways.  The bookstore also needs cashiers throughout the weekend, and we’ll be selling some tote bags and t-shirts near the front entrance.

We need food stockers to deliver refrigerated and frozen food from the trucks to the relevant booths, and people to help manage the garbage and recycling. We’ll also need a lot of help with tearing down the event on Sunday at the end of the event.

For those who are available on Friday May 12^th, we need lots of volunteers to help set out the tablecloths and signage, help with setting up booths and making sure they have everything they need. We will also be preparing envelopes of coupons for the membership goodie bags.
